COBRA COMMUNITY DAY COMING APRIL 18TH

COBRA COMMUNITY DAY

APRIL 18TH, 2022

WHAT IS COBRA COMMUNITY DAY (CCD)?

For those of you who have just joined your first Cobra team in the last 2 years, you’re likely not familiar with Cobra Community Day. We are really excited to be bringing it back for the first time since 2019!

For us CCD is a chance to have everybody playing on a Cobra team together in the VTT gym to celebrate the start of our Spring season and to:

  • Have fun with some cool, interactive events

  • Introduce players and parents to the bigger Split Second community including other teams, coaches, administrators and support that they don’t get to see at practice every day

  • Give players their merchandise, uniforms, practice jerseys etc

  • Take team and individual photos

  • Give players and parents a brief overview of the season and a chance to ask any questions about travel etc.

  • Help players and parents understand the tools we have in place (SSB smartphone app, Cobra Newsletter plus XPS and chat groups for older teams)

  • Give parents a chance to meet each other and be in contact regarding carpooling or other travel arrangements

Please come out on Monday April 18th at the assigned time for your team so that you will be in the team photo. Everybody who already has a uniform, needs to bring both home and away versions (or reversible for younger teams) with them to the CCD for their photo. Please also bring your Split Second hoodie….because as you can read below, we’ve got some fun things planned for that.

THINGS TO DO AT COBRA COMMUNITY DAY

SPRING MERCH GRAB

Yes, supply chains have been rough and it’s been extraordinarily challenging to get your gear this year. However, we’re really happy about what we’ve been able to secure for you and have been promised it will all be ready for us on April 18th…for all those that come to Cobra Community Day. Anybody who ordered new uniforms and hoodies will also get them that day.

PHOTOSTOP

Josh Bowie is the award-winning professional photographer behind Josh Bowie photography (weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and family shots), awesome dude and a coach at Split Second. Josh will be taking individual and team photos…so please bring your uniforms unless you’re picking up a new one at CCD.

CUSTOMIZE MY GEAR

What could be better than Split Second merch? One of a kind gear that’s personalized just for you.

Below coach Eric B shows he jumped on the Milwaukee bandwagon (but really…who doesn’t love Giannis?) and likes to wear number 12. Bring your Split Second hoodie (or other merch that is made with thicker material) to the Cobra Community Day and we have a great selection of badges/logos, letters, numbers for you to customize and iron on to your gear.

WHAT’S MY VERT?

Meet the team of experts at Saltus Athletics that work with all of our older Cobra teams each week…and test your speed and vertical against your teammates.

MEET OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Our fantastic community partners, who provide invaluable support to the Cobra program, will join us for an afternoon of fun.

PARENT MEETING

Our Split Second team works really hard to be well organized and good communicators. In the middle of CCD…during the time we are all gathered together as one group…we will have a parent meeting where we go over some of the communication tools we have in place, expectations for players and answer any questions that you may have.

We really look forward to seeing COBRA players and parent in the gym on Monday April 18th. Please come at your assigned time listed in the table above. While normally we might extend the invitation to your larger family, to keep the numbers in the gym lower for COVID, we ask that you ideally bring one player and one parent to the event.
