Introducing the Vancouver Prep Basketball Academy: Preparing Athletes For Success At The Next Level!
Vancouver, BC. April 18th, 2023 - We are proud to announce our formation of the Vancouver Prep Basketball Academy, dedicated to helping athletes make the jump from youth to post-secondary basketball. Our first step in this pathway will be hosting an ID camp on May 13th and 14th at the Richmond Oval.
Vancouver Prep is committed to providing U21 athletes with the resources and support they need to achieve their goals of playing basketball at the next level. Our experienced coaches and support staff have a proven track record of success in developing players, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to talented athletes.
"Our mission is to help young athletes make this jump by providing them with a supportive environment and the resources they need to succeed," said Academy president Eric Butler. "Our Player ID camp on May 13th and 14th is the first step on this pathway, and we are excited to see what talented athletes will come out and showcase their skills."
The ID camp will take place at the Richmond Oval, a world-class sports facility and home to the Oval HP training staff. On court evaluation will be handled by experienced Split Second Basketball coaches who will provide feedback, evaluate players' skills and see how they could fit with the team for next year.
This is an incredible opportunity for talented young basketball players to join our academy and be a part of something special. We encourage all serious U21 athletes looking for a place to develop their game next year to attend the Player ID camp and show us what they've got!
ABOUT VANCOUVER PREP
Training
Vancouver Prep athletes will do their team, individual and strength training at the Richmond Oval starting in September 2023.
Gameplay
Vancouver Prep will play pre-season games against local university and college programs and play regular season games in the Canadian Junior Basketball League (CJBL) against U21 teams from across Western Canada. The CJBL season will run between October 2023 and March 2024.
